Looking for something a little different to do while you're in Boston?This experience combines a relaxed walking tour with outdoor sketching, giving you a chance to explore historic neighborhoods while creating your own artwork. Inspired by plein air—the tradition of making art outdoors—we'll stop at landmarks, notice the small details that are easy to miss, and create sketches along the way.No art experience is needed. Whether it's your first time drawing or you've filled sketchbooks for years, you'll leave with new memories, a few new techniques, and a handmade souvenir from your trip!
What to Expect
Over the course of two hours, we'll explore Boston's historic Back Bay with stops at 3–4 iconic locations, including the Make Way for Ducklings sculpture, the Commonwealth Avenue Mall, and the neighborhood's famous brownstones.You'll create several quick sketches before settling in for a longer drawing session, where I'll introduce simple techniques for capturing architecture and perspective. Along the way, I'll also share stories about the history of Back Bay and the people who helped shape one of Boston's most recognizable neighborhoods.IncludedAll sketching materials
